Wes Nelson

Wes is Co-Founder of Towner, an event website application that won the first Startup Weekend in Reno. His background is in marketing, brand strategy, and design. Before moving from Nashville to Reno, Wes got his start working for Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in college. Currently, Wes is in startup mode as he and his team continue to develop Towner. When Wes isn't doing design work or developing marketing plans, there's a good chance he's either playing pickup soccer or writing a song. It's a little known fact that Wes is a singer/songwriter in his spare time.

Voters elected Hillary as an At-Large Council representative in 2012. This is the only At-Large Council seat and encompasses the entire City boundary. Hillary brings to the Council her entrepreneurial experience as an employer and local business owner, as well as her out-of-the-box thinking which helped her businesses prosper during the downturn in the economy.

Hillary’s business success landed her the Reno Gazette-Journal’s 2011 “Entrepreneur of the Year" award. In 1998 as Founder and CEO of WynWyn Inc., he oversaw the creation of a proprietary database that indexed millions of marketing terms used by small businesses in over 300 business categories. The WynWyn database provided quantifiable insights into the frequency of marketing terms used by millions of small businesses across hundreds of different business categories.

Eric is a serial entrepreneur formerly based in Washington DC and Silicon Valley but now resides in Reno. He has founded or been an early stage employee in 7 startups in the IP Networking, Software as a Service (Saas), Mobile Apps and Cloud Computing Services markets.

Eric started his career in IP Network Engineering for some of largest DC Area based ISPs including MCI/UUNet, AOL and USinternetworking.

In 2000, he was recruited to Silicon Valley and made a career change from Engineering to Marketing. His main focus since moving to Reno has been helping Silicon Valley and Northern Nevada based startups launch their company and capital fund raising.

Eric holds a BS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina.
