Event Details

Startup Weekend Reno 2013: February 22 – 24, 2013 Southside School, 190 East Liberty Street, Reno, NV: Coworking space, meals, mentors, and copious amounts of coffee will be provided to registered attendees, speakers, judges, and mentors. Startup Weekend Reno will take place at Southside School (a map is also embedded above) starting on Friday the 22nd of February. Students get $50 off with a valid student ID. Use code “STUDENT” when you register. You will be required to show Student ID at the door.

  • Attendees vote for the top ideas
  • Teams start forming and discussing ideas
  • Start to formalize teams and take an inventory of skills. Be honest, and direct about what resources and skills are needed for the weekend. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Saturday

Feb 23
  • Arrive, simple breakfast & coffee
  • Teams formed and setting up workspace for the weekend
  • Lunch
  • Call for needs & skills
  • Coaches help teams one-on-one. They are here to help!
  • Dinner
  • Mid weekend check-in, status reports, call for help
  • Finished for the day. You may stay and work as late as the venue will allow

Sunday

Feb 24
  • Arrive, simple breakfast & coffee
  • Call for help (this is self motivated, so don’t be shy)
  • Lunch
  • Coaches arrive… ASK QUESTIONS
  • Gut check. Start prepping for presentations

He’s been referred to as Jimmy, Jim-bo and Tasty-cakes but around here we know him as the head honcho, chief master, overlord, and CEO of this place we call work. Jim spends his day doing CEO stuff - whatever that is - and spends his nights un-friending annoying people on Facebook, and hanging out with his family. He’s obsessed with customer service and probably gives away way too much free stuff, but it’s not uncommon for a support ticket to be answered by Jim himself, just because he wants to. If he wasn’t an entrepreneur he would want to be a king size candy bar in a Halloween bag, you know the kind that is awesome when you find it but then it makes you sick because you ate too much. When we asked him how he felt about pancakes he was speechless, we think he’s still coming to terms with the fact that he’s made more pancakes than any man should ever have to.
